A bit of hard luck on day 3 with ALBERTAS RUN’s narrow defeat, but we did win a bit through another very game performance by THE COCKNEY MACKEM. So on to the final day of another brilliant festival. Let’s hope we can finish on a high!
JCB TRIUMPH HURDLE
BABY MIX – (nap)(unplaced) ran a fantastic race last time out and beat some other well fancied horses in the Adonis. This put his previous poor run behind him. I really fancy him now to follow past Adonis winners like Soldatino and Zarkandar to win the Triumph. Win bet. As I tipped up on my Pre-Cheltenham blog I will also have a bit each way on HISAABAAT.(2nd – 20-1)
VINCENT O’BRIEN COUNTY HURDLE
STARLUCK – (each way). (unplaced)Handicap debut. Has run in higher class races than this, will enjoy the ground and as top weight has to be respected. Also having a bit each way on DESERT CRY.(unplaced)
ALBERT BARTLETT NOVICES’ HURDLE
BRINDISI BREEZE –(won 7-1) ran a blinder at Haydock last time and looked like he had more in the tank that day. The ground is a little bit of a concern, and BOSTON BOB is supposedly a good thing. I was really impressed with my tip last time and I am hopeful of a win. Win bet
THE GOLD CUP
SYNCHRONISED – (nb)(won 8-1) this race is all about the battle between KAUTO STAR and LONG RUN. Kauto is a horse I love and the picture of him above epitomises everything I love about him! I wouldn’t be too gutted if he won. However, my tip has done nothing wrong this year and keeps improving. He will stay and as shown in the Lexus has a turn of foot too. The top two may race each other too much and set this up for McCoy to snatch it. Win bet.
CHRISTIE’S FOXHUNTER CHASE
SALSIFY – (won 7-1)won well last time at Leopardstown and is tailor made for a chase like this. My only winner of the so far was in the cross country so I may be an expert now in these races!!Not!
MARTIN PIPE CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS
MAKE A TRACK – (treble) (4th – 12-1)a smart novice who ran a very creditable fifth in a hot contest last time. Will enjoy the ground and the trip – win bet. Ive resisted the temptation to bet on PATEESE after another disappointment last time, watch it go and win now!
GRAND ANNUAL CHASE
ANQUETTA – (each way)(4th – 33-1) ran a beauty earlier in the year at Ascot and was hugely dispointing last time out, finishing last when favourite! Something had to be wrong, I reckon he’ll bounce back and it’s not as if the trainer is out of form is it!
Remember to bet sensibly and not take my advice if you don’t want it! The last day already for another year – gutted! But another great week of racing wasn’t it!
