The reason Exotic Dancer has made my A to Z is because of his awesome attitude. He had many a battle with Kauto Star when he was at his pomp, never quite beating him, but always running well in defeat.

He was a bit of a no hoper hurdler and came into his own in the 2006/07 season, winning the Paddy Power Gold Cup, Boylesport Gold Cup and the Letheby and Christopher Chase. He also finished second in the King George VI Chase and th Gold Cup to the aforementioned Kauto Star. He topped a very impressive season off winning the Betfair Bowl at Aintree. The following season he ran 5 times and was runner up every time to Kauto and didnt win again until the Lexus Chase in December 2008. He won me a good few bob as a certain each way player in these races too!

As we approach Aintree, where he had his final appearance, we must remember this great horse, who in his own right, won a shed load of money, but too often found a superstar in his way. Reminds me a bit of Richard Johnson and AP McCoy! Exotic Dancer had his final race in the Betfair Bowl in 2009, finishing second to Madison Du Berlais and unfortunately then had a heart attack in his box after the race. RIP EXOTIC DANCER
