Aintree Festival Day One

So here we go, the fabulous Aintree festival is on us, culminating in the Grand National on Saturday. For my Grand National blog that I did with @BritBloggers and @Coral please see here, please take a look and see what the guys at Coral think will win the big one.

As always here is my treble for the day and I will also do a selection for each race, each day at Aintree.

SADLER’S RISK 1430 AINTREE – (nap) – ( 3rd – 9-2 = 6.4 points ) a lot of these match up again following the Triumph. That race was a very fast run affair from the off and my selection got caught up in all of that. In a more steady pace, on a more flat track I fancy him to come home well. (3 points each way)

ASTRACAD 1615 AINTREE – (nb) – ( 2nd 8-1 = 6 points ) ran well below his best last time at Cheltenham, and with a true showing off this mark on a track he fesponds on he could be a good selection! (2 points each way)

CORKAGE 1725 AINTREE – (treble) – (unplaced) he was very impressive last time at Doncaster and has gone from strength to strength this year. He has been given a 10lb rise for that win, but the manner in which he did that suggests he should be able to overcome this raise. (1 point each way)

STAKE = 11 points

RETURNS = 12.4 points

BANK = +98points

STATS as of 12/4/12 WINS 16/67 24% NAPS 5/23 22% TREBLES 2/23 8.6%

Here are my selections for the rest of the day – fingers crossed for a good day!

SADLER’S RISK 2.30 e/w 3rd 9-2
MASTER OF THE HALL 3.05 e/w unplaced
