Aintree Festival Day Two

What a great first day of action that was. It couldn’t have started any better than seeing BIG BUCKS win his 17th straight race and cement his place in racing history. I have no words to describe him, and scarily, he hasn’t really ever got out of second gear yet!

We were pretty successful on the blog today with the nap and nb running to a place (SADLERS RISK and ASTRACAD). I also highlighted MENORAH. So what will day two bring? I can’t wait!

ALBERTAS RUN 1505 AINTREE – (nap) (3rd – 11-4) ran a fantastic race at Cheltenham and has the class on this ground to win. The ground seemed to have dried out a bit which will play into his strengths as will the extra distance than what FINIANS RAINBOW ran at the festival. The champ will have him there (10 point win)

COTTON MILL 1615 AINTREE – (nb) (3rd – 6-1)was running a great race in the Neptune and could have given SIMONSIG a real run for his money. He will love the track and the ground, I’m expecting a big run (3 point win)

TEVEZ 1530 LEICESTER – (treble) (unplaced)has a great track record of 3-3, and has won on ground that is softer than good before. He can put two poor recent runs before behind him and come home well (1 point each way)

STAKE = 15 points

RETURNS = 0 points

BANK = +83 points

STATS as of 13/4/12 WINS 16/70 22.8% NAPS 5/24 20.8% TREBLES 2/24 8.3%

Here are my Aintree selections and I’m hoping the fantastic LAVA LAMP can continue his recent run and rise up the ranks in the 4.50. So I will be backing him e/w along with ORSIPPUS e/w who has won a grade 1 here before.

PROSPECT WELLS 2.00 3rd – 4-1
ALBERTAS RUN 3.05 3rd – 11-4
FRANKIE FIGG 3.40 e/w unplaced
COTTON MILL 4.15 3rd – 6-1
LAVA LAMP 4.50 e/w ORSIPPUS e/w both unplaced
UMADACHAR 5.25 e/w 3rd – 17-2
