Over the past few days I wouldn’t have been able to pick a winner if it slapped me across the face. I then saw this photo that the brilliant Emma-Louise took and thought it was apt. I think the horses are indeed laughing at me at the minute.
I hope to get the last laugh today though with these selections.
OSTLAND 1710 AYR – (nap) (unplaced) is 4 from 7 when chasing and has looked to be right there in his last two hurdle races yet didn’t stay on. He started very well over fences and needs good ground. Richard Johnson on board is a plus and I hope he’ll recapture his old from. He’s not top weight for nothing! (5 point win)
EDGARDO SOL 1450 AYR – (nb) (unplaced) won very impressively over fences at Aintree and is due to go up in the handicap, he’s effectively 8lb well in today. With that in mind and his recent run he must have a huge chance. (5 point win)
BOUCHER GARCON 1830 NOTTINGHAM – (treble) (unplaced) just got pipped by Shawkatango last time. For that there is a 2lb allowance in the weights, the horse is ideally drawn and will relish the ground. (3 points win)
STAKE = 13 points
RETURNS = 0 points
BANK = 54.5 points
Stats as of 20/4/12 WINS 19/87 21.8% NAPS 6/30 20% TREBLES 2/30 6.6%
As well as these I’ll be having a dabble on the following :
MERIGO AYR 1525 e/w – (Won 15-2) he has run 7 times at Ayr with figures of 3112121 – has to have an each way chance.
PETITFOUR AYR 1525 e/w – (unplaced) will stay the distance and like the ground, his jumping needs to improve, but if it has he has to have an e/w sniff at a big price.
LANCETTO 1415 AYR – (unplaced) ran a very creditable second to Domtaline, who I think is a very smart horse, that should be enough to give him a chance today.
ARCTIC COSMOS 1400 NEWBURY – (unplaced) his class will see him through
LABARINTO 1545 NEWBURY – (unplaced) is progressive, likes soft and stays further which you’ll need with today’s conditions, they might kick him on and let them try and catch him.
MOONSTONE MAGIC 1435 NEWBURY – (won 7-2) very impressive on soft last week, more on here, but could be special! Stable and jockey in form.
SOUTHERN STATE 1700 THIRSK e/w – (unplaced) has run creditably on the AW, and the soft ground may play into his favour on his turf debut.
Finally, please bet within your means, and remember these are my selections and I’m not suggesting you take my advice. I do this as a bit of fun!
