It’s a Bank Holiday which can only mean one thing – rain! It is this biblical level of precipitation that I’m blaming for having absolutely stinking form with the horses. The first classics are over, none of my selections came close, yet the 1000 race must surely have been a falsely run affair due to the very unfortunate events for GRAY PEARL. However, you can’t take anything away from the winner.
I’m praying to the sun gods this week. I’m due to head to Warwick races on Saturday night with a group of friends, yet their Bank Holiday fixture is off due to waterlogging. Worse news is more rain is forecast – we’ll all be gutted if it’s off, tickets have arrived, hotel’s booked etc.
Sun gods will get some treatment as will the Luck gods – can I have a change please?
FADE TO GREY 1520 KEMPTON – (nap) (WON 5-2 = 17.5 points) his last success at Wolverhampton took his all weather tally to 2 from 3. He is respected on that, and with Fallon on board again he must have a chance. (5 point win)
SUPREME QUEST 1515 KEMPTON – (nb) (unplaced) ran a great race when second on his secong outing at Warwick this time last year. Was then disappointing following that, suggesting something was amiss. Hopefully a stong effort will be seen today. (4 point win)
DEBATING SOCIETY 1635 WINDSOR – (treble) (unplaced) ran a good race when second to FALCON IN FLIGHT at Yarmouth. Lost by 7l that day but has a 14lb pull today in the weights. That must give him ever chance to turn the tables. (3 point win)
