York Dante Festival Day 1

After another dismal day on the blog on Saturday I'm blooming hoping my luck changes at the Knavesmire this week. It should be a cracking meeting and I've got Doncaster on Saturday to look forward to aswell. Good luck if you're having a flutter.
MEHDI 1440 York (nap) (3rd – 10-1)
The drop back to six furlongs will help this fella and he should be fit after his first outing. He's got a featherweight here and Hanagan in the saddle. He was a narrow second to HUNTSMAN'S CLOSE in the Ayr Silver Cup last year and that form is decent with that one getting narrowly defeated at Guineas weekend. He should run a big race.
MUTHMIR 1515 York (nb) (unplaced)
He has looked a very smart sprinter last year and must be a Group horse this year! This is a competitve race to begin but one that he should win.
VOICE OF A LEADER 1410 York (treble) (4th – 33-1)
Nothing like a big priced runner in a handicap! This guy has ability but only had one run last year and for me the ground was against him. He has a decent handicap mark based on only a few outings and clearly the handicapper is concerned about his potential. I think he could run a big race on better ground.
TOGETHER FOREVER 1545 York (2nd – 9-4)
This filly has lots of scope and ended last season on a high. She will definitely stay and I think she will give Star of Seville a close run for her money.

York Day 2

A winner and two seconds on the first day at York courtesy of LASTCHANCELUCAS (8-1) and TWIRL (5-6) and VAN DER ART (10-1). I was disappointed though as my best three bets were nowhere!
Yet, as always we live to fight another day!
TIMEPIECE 1400 YORK – (nap) (unplaced) the highest rated of these and was third last year. Ran flat behind Izzi Top last time, yet the ground was too soft, prefers better ground and I’m hopeful of a better show this time. (5 point win)

SITTING TENNANT 1630 PERTH – (nb) (3rd – 11-2) ran a good race when second last time on his comeback. Lightly raced and thought a lot of. Should improve for that run and go well. (3 point win)

FENCING 1430 YORK – (treble) (3rd – 7-2) should raise his game and give a better account than his Guineas 6th. Must have a real chance. A class horse. (3 point win)

Here are the tips for the rest of York all 1 point bets
SWISS FRANC 130 e/w (unplaced)
MIJHAAR 300 (3rd – 2-1)
ES QUE LOVE 335 (unplaced)

York Day 1

York Day 1

On to another cracking few days of racing with the Dante meeting. I love this time of year, so many good meetings and races in such a little time. As it’s a big meeting I will do my normal best three and then do a tip for each race at York.
ALWAYS THE LADY 1535 YORK – (nap) (unplaced) he has strong claims on his previous form if he stays the extended trip. Has won on soft and good to soft. Must have a chance of a place. (3 points each way)

SIRIUS PROSPECT 1500 YORK – (nb) (unplaced) has not recaptured the awesome form of last year. Yet he seemed to relish bigger fields like this and the ground is getting a bit drier which should suit. (3 points each way)

NEW PLANET 1400 YORK – (treble) (unplaced) is lightely raced and has good form here at York. He has the scope to improve further. (2 points each way)

STAKE = 23 points

RETURNS = 9 points

BANK = – 55.9 points

Other tips at York all 1 point
