Kempton and Warwick

Well this week was a bit of a shock to the system after two weeks off but The Bandit soon got back into the swing of things! Last week was a cracker for the blog with my nap INDIAN JACK winning at 5-1 and CHEVISE coming at 20-1 givnig me some real profit and saw me finally winning a week over my old man in our little head to head. He also had a cracking week with two winners and 2 placed. Lets hope we can continue the good form of recent weeks today. The current standing are FATHER 3-1 SON. With our total profits from a £2.50 each way stake being
Father = £93.04 profit
Son = £77.56 profit

UNCLE JIMMY 1425 WARWICK (NAP) – (WON – 17-2 = £23.44) He has two wins on soft to his name and for me he has been crying out for this longer trip. People think he may not stay I reckon it will bring even more out of him. He reminds me of HOLYWELL who I put up in this last year and was pipped by ELY BROWN. He takes a bit of a hold but is always there staying on at the end. He beat ROYAL NATIVE at Fontwell over 23f and I think today you will see him stay on over the last flight here and catch up in the run in. He could be my Cheltenham horse this year as HOLYWELL was last year, he would need to be competitive in this though. Great chance today!

HOME RUN 1440 KEMPTON (NB) – (unplaced – £5.00) he ran a cracker last time behind SAPHIR DU RHEU and I think he could reverse the placing today on this softer ground. At the weights he is 8lbs better off today than last time for an 8 length success. Harry Derham takes 5lbs off for his claim though but I just think Home Run has been improving more and more and this track on the ground will play to his strengths. He has only gone up a pound on the ratings compared to Saphir's 15! I think he is better handicapped than his foe and I think Saphir needs laying in this today.

DUNOWEN POINT 1355 WARWICK (TREBLE) – (unplaced -£5.00) has been dropped 3lbs in the ratings for his poor show at Aintree. I think he just didn't fire that day on a specialist track. He is now only a pound higher than when defeated by CLOUDY TOO at Wetherby on soft last year. He gave CLOUDY TOO 5 lbs on the weights that day and that horse is now rated 13lbs higher than my choice in the ratings. If he reproduces that form he will wipe the floor with these today I reckon. The ground should be fine for him and he has a great chance in my opinion.

SWNYMOR 1550 KEMPTON – (unplaced – £5.00) A bit of a forgotten horse is this one! Won very well last year and was moving to win when asked too much at the last flight at Chepstow and he fell. That destroyed the rest of his season and his confidence. Miss Curtis has been patient with him and ran him for a confidence booster on the flat at Doncaster. He was staying on that day over a trip way short and it will have done him the world of good. He's six pounds lower in the ratings than when running in the Triumph hurdle and he has the class to beat these today at a great price!

Before I go on to my dad's selections I also want to flag up MIAS BOY 1435 LINGFIELD – who races on the lowest AW mark for 5 years today. Also EMPEROR'S CHOICE 1535 WARWICK should produce better today dropped another 4lbs! Finally DOESLESSTHANME 1415 WETHERBY goes well fresh has solid form from last year and is being seriously overlooked at 33-1 when I write this, he has a great each way chance.

Here are my dad's selections for today. We've picked three of the same races and the same horse!

RIVER MAIGUE 1440 KEMPTON (unplaced – £5.00)
OSCAR FORTUNE 1425 WARWICK (unplaced – £5.00)
KILLALA QUAY 1500 WARWICK (unplaced – £5.00)
DUNOWEN POINT 1355 WARWICK (unplaced – £5.00)

Result Father = -£20 and Son + £8.44

Running totals

SON PROFIT = £86

Tuesday selections

PRINCESS OF ORANGE 1540 YARMOUTH (nap) – (unplaced) as much as it pains me to nap a horse with Frank Spencer on board I really think this one has a real chance. She absolutely flew in over a mile at Newmarket on good to firm and then contested two class one races which were above her. Back in a class 3, despite a 9lb rise she has a sniff.

MIAS BOY 1500 LINGFIELD (nb) – (WON – 8-1) this one now comes with a CLIFF HORSE warning. 21 straight defeats leaves me flumuxed. However, the jockey rode him poorly last time and got him going too late. The same jock is back on today and ai'm hoping now he gets it that he'll ride him off a fast pace and go at the right time!

THE GREY ONE 1715 WORCESTER (treble) – (PU) the ground is key here. He's not been seen for ages and it's not surprising he hasn't been out with the ground. Won well on good last year beating Maizy Missile, and is now a pound higher than when second back in September. Has a pretty decent record around here and is worth a go.

Tuesday selections

MIAS BOY 1630 WOLVES (nap) – (3rd – 4-1) ultraconsistent and will run another good race. I'm hoping for a strong pace to be set, mostly the case herevat Wolves in a race like this. If that happens then he has a better than good chance.

BACK IN FOCUS 1840 PUNCHESTOWN (nb) – (unplaced) won well again a Cheltenham and I think his juming will hold up better than his stable companions and he will take this.

JEZKI 1620 PUNCHESTOWN (treble) – (WON – 2-1) I thought he ran really well at the festival and if he would have jumped the last better he would have been closer. He caught the flight and lost momentum. Back on home soil I can see him reversing the form.

Imperial Cup Day

I have to start todays blog with the horse that won big for the blog on here last Saturday, PACHA DU POLDER (courtesy of Getty Images). His win made it two big winning Saturday naps on the trot, with OPENING BATSMAN wining the week before. I also had a nice winning nap yesterday with HANOVERIAN BARON. I'm hoping therefore I am getting a good position ready for the festival next week. Lets hope I can keep the Saturday trend going today! To be honest the racing is a bit average today and is obviously playing second fiddle to the events at Prestbury Park next week. I hope I've picked a few out though.

ALVARADO 1440 SANDOWN – (nap) (REF) he is only 4lbs higher today than when winning at Wetherby in October. He defeated PIGEON ISLAND that day and had subsequent winner EASTLAKE well behind. I hoping the stiff finish here, similar to Wetherby's finish will play to his strengths.

MR MOLE 1515 SANDOWN – (nb) (PU) is still on a good mark and the significance of Paul Nicholls sending him here with the ground turning in his favour is a real plus. He has solid form and he defeated MELODIC RENDEZVOUS back in October. Huge chance!

EDMUND KEAN 1405 SANDOWN – (treble) (3rd – 9-2) I napped him on his reappearance when he won easily at Fakenham earlier this year. A facile success followed and he is unexposed and good be a very good horse. Again the ground seems to have gone in his favour. I had a good day in this race last year when tipping AMBION WOOD, this guy won't be the same price as that but he is a similar type.

MIAS BOY 1455 WOLVERHAMPTON – (4th – 17-2) has been running well in defeat this season and is now 6lbs better off than when he was third in this last year. George Baker rides him for his only ride of the day and I think the fast paced battle between LOYALTY and GUEST OF HONOUR will set up the right pace for him to attack off.

SKYTRAIN 1715 WOLVERHAMPTON – (2nd – 15-8) made all last time over 7 furlongs and it seemed to be the right distance to get the best out of him. More to come and he should take this.

MOLLY'S A DIVA 1550 SANDOWN – (WON 17-2) won battling on heavy on her first start on heavy ground and then followed that up with another solid success last time out at Huntingdon. Could be dangerous on this ground.

KENNY POWERS 1420 WOLVERHAMPTON – (2nd – 9-4) is a course and distance winner who has been running well at Meydan and should be sharp and fit and should take this.

DO IT FOR DALKEY 1525 AYR – (WON 100-30) conditions will be perfect for this one and two recent good runs in second will have set him up nicely for this. His second last,time to COOL OPERATOR is solid form, COOL OPERATOR defeated RIGADIN DU BEAUCHENE prior to that and we know what he did after that!

So, those are my selections for today. Hopefully I can keep this good trend going. I will be putting an in-depth blog up every night prior to the Festival days and will do an analysis of each horse I fancy in each race. Can't wait! Good luck today if you're betting and remember to do so within your means.
