Wednesday selections

SCRIPTWRITER 1640 SEDGEFIELD (nap) – (2nd – 9-2) this was pretty smart on the flat and isn't a bad hurdler. He saves his best for here and has two course and distance successes at this class and on this ground. Has to have a big chance on that.

KAUTO STONE 1730 PUNCHESTOWN (nb) – (PU) has really disappointed on his last two runs in the King George and the Cleeve Hurdle. He reverts back to the bigger obstacles and slighty better ground will hopefully help too. He also has good form in Ireland and defeated First Lieutenant at Down Royal earlier in the season. Has been kept fresh for this and is a huge price in my opinion.

NOVIRAK 1450 EPSOM (treble) – (3rd – 11-1) has run twice here with victory last time and a narrow defeat before that. He has the ground he prefers and will hopefully be competitive and run a good race.

I will also have a sheckle on one of my cliff horses DEGAS ART 1735 PERTH (PU) who won well a few times last year but hasn't show anything yet. However, he was unseated early last time and will appreciate the trip and ground.

Saturday – How many meetings?

I can't believe how many meetings there are today! Like reading war and peace trying to pick the best ones today. A lot to look forward to though, some excellent races today, including the St. Wilfred. Then we have the return of football of course. As much as I can't ge doung with the overpaid, pompous pillocks, I have to admit I do miss my footy on a Saturday.
We then move to the fantastic Ebor meeting next week and possibly the last time we will ever see Frankel on a racecourse. Can't wait to see him in all his majesty again.

On to today, a couple of Lucky 15's with my best three in there too. Good luck if you're having a flutter!

Lucky 15 Number 1
Absinthe 1615 Perth (nap) (2nd – 11/4)
Strong Suit 1505 Newbury (nb) (2nd – 9/4)
Our Jonathan 1530 Ripon (treble) (unplaced)
Fury 1555 Newmarket (NR)

Lucky 15 Number 2
Mont Ras 1550 Doncaster (3rd – 5-1)
Fleeting Smile 1415 Newmarket (3rd – 11/4)
Gassin Golf 1700 Doncaster (2nd – 2-1)
Brown Panther 1430 Newbury (2nd – 9/4)

Sunday Selections at Perth

Saturday was a little frustrating with 5 horses getting placed and not a winner. Probably shouldn’t complain though as it’s still place money and my selections running well. The blog I did for my friend at Newcastle wasn’t too bad either with two wins ( BILIDN 9/4 & RIGHT TO RULE 10/11) two seconds ( CELESTIAL DAWN 7-1 & HAKUNA MATATA 2-1) and two thirds ( RETREAT CONTENT 10-1 & NEW DRAMA 6-1).

So here are Sunday’s selections. I wont be doing a blog for most of next week as I’m away.

DEGAS ART 1610 PERTH – (nap) (FELL) is running well of late and has always had a touch of class about him. He once beat KATCHIT over hurdles in his juvenile days. Has won twice and been placed here.

LOCKEDINTHEPOCKET 1640 PERTH – (nb) (unplaced) has two course and distance wins under his belt and is fresh from a break and the trainer and jockey have an excellent record when pairing up.

MIA’S VIC 1540 PERTH – (treble) (unplaced) given a chance on handicap debut because of a bit of smart novice form over 2m4f. May be a decent type.

NAPS 16/78 = 20.5%

York Day 2

A winner and two seconds on the first day at York courtesy of LASTCHANCELUCAS (8-1) and TWIRL (5-6) and VAN DER ART (10-1). I was disappointed though as my best three bets were nowhere!
Yet, as always we live to fight another day!
TIMEPIECE 1400 YORK – (nap) (unplaced) the highest rated of these and was third last year. Ran flat behind Izzi Top last time, yet the ground was too soft, prefers better ground and I’m hopeful of a better show this time. (5 point win)

SITTING TENNANT 1630 PERTH – (nb) (3rd – 11-2) ran a good race when second last time on his comeback. Lightly raced and thought a lot of. Should improve for that run and go well. (3 point win)

FENCING 1430 YORK – (treble) (3rd – 7-2) should raise his game and give a better account than his Guineas 6th. Must have a real chance. A class horse. (3 point win)

Here are the tips for the rest of York all 1 point bets
SWISS FRANC 130 e/w (unplaced)
MIJHAAR 300 (3rd – 2-1)
ES QUE LOVE 335 (unplaced)
ARTIGIANO 410 (3rd – 8-1)

My favourite TIMEPIECE

Friday’s Tips

Another winner on the blog on Thursday, shame it was only a short priced one! COUNTRY ROAD (5-4). One of my tips today came behind the horse in the photo SIMONSIG at Cheltenham.

I must tell you about an exciting opportunity that Coral have created this year. They have formed the CORAL CHAMPIONS CLUB, the website, with all the details is here. What a fantastic opportunity, and courtesy of Coral and Brit Bloggers I have been very kindly made a classic member. Well chuffed!

So, on to Friday’s tips :

OVERLADY 1435 PERTH – (nap) (PU) won well at Ayr in January on soft ground then fell trying to follow that win up in heavy ground. Has since come 4th in good to soft ground. With the ground softening all the more, she must have an outstanding each way chance at a great price (4 points each way)

STRIDENT FORCE 1455 SANDOWN – (nb) (unplaced) ran some creditable races last year and will be one that should improve now handicapping. Has ran well on good to soft and Stoute has won this race in twice in the last 4 years. (3 points each way)

FELIX YONGER 1805 PUNCHESTOWN – (treble) (unplaced) ran an excellent race when second to Simonsig at the festival. Has form that reads 2211 on soft or heavy ground. Stable in form, must have a great chance. (2 point win)

Thursday – Relax, Don’t do it!

Albion Wood (11-8) was the winning nap on Wednesday. This horse is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. It was another fighting display, what a chaser he will make!

With the weather playing havoc, lets hope it doesn’t affect the weekend fixtures. So, onwards to Thursday.

RUNSWICK RELAX 1500 PERTH – (nap) (unplaced) stayed on well last time on his handicap bow, and the softer ground over this distance should help. He finished 2nd on soft at Catterick over 3m 2f. He’s unexposed and may have more improvement in him than some of these. (3 points each way)

DOOR BOY 1530 PERTH – (nb) (PU) ran a great second to Chance Du Roy on his return. The form has been franked by his subsequent win and a great second at Aintree. Must run well. (2 point win)

COUNTRY ROAD 1520 WOLVERHAMPTON – (treble) (Won – 5-4 = 4.5 points) plenty in his favour, and looking for his fourth win in five outings over course and distance. (2 point win)

STAKE = 10 points

RETURNS = 4.5 points

BANK = 87.25 points

Stats as of 26/4/12
